Vieremä

Vieremä is a famous parish not only for agriculture and horsemanship, but also for the high-quality metal industries. Vieremä is well known for the wilderness landscapes of Hällämö and Linnanharju, as well as Talaskangas that has suitable trekking paths for families with children. The silence of wilderness, pristine nature, and the Savo sense of humour are worth experiencing. Trotting races, Kohiseva Kokka rowing relay race, and village fest in the summertime, together with the autumn fair gather people together, so you will always find someone to talk to. About 15,000 avid fans of trotting and horses make their way each year to the Upper Savo hippodrome. There are about 4,300 inhabitants in Vieremä.
