Those bitten by the golf bug will find a full range of facilities in the Kuopio region: well-maintained courses, a good selection of golf classes, and an array of excellent services. The golf courses in the region rank among the best in the whole of Finland. The 18-hole Old Course of the Tahko Golf Club in Nilsiä has been twice voted the best golf course in Finland. The new course in Tahko is at least as beautiful. Tiirin Golf  in Nilsiä offers everybody who is interested in golf an opportunity to play on the new high-level course with nine holes without having a Green Card. Tarina Golf in Siilinjärvi has 36 fairways. Both of these international-standard courses are located in varied terrain and offer a real challenge to experienced golfers and novices alike. The 9-hole Konnus Golf in Leppävirta and the par 3 practice course at Puijo in Kuopio are set in upland areas and provide excellent facilities for practising and playing.
